A Message from Samuel Pott & Sarah Lane
It is with great joy and deep reverence that we welcome you to the Summit campus of the School of Nimbus Dance.
This new chapter begins with heartfelt acknowledgment of the extraordinary legacy of the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble (NJDTE). For over 50 years, NJDTE was a beacon of excellence in dance education and performance in Summit and beyond. We honor its indelible impact on generations of dancers and are humbled to carry forward a space so rich with artistry, discipline, and heart.
At Nimbus, we bring with us a mission rooted in artistic rigor, equity, and community engagement. As Artistic Director, I have long envisioned a school that not only trains technically proficient dancers, but also shapes empowered, expressive artists. In Summit, this vision is enriched by the city’s vibrant cultural history and the legacy left by NJDTE.
As a former principal dancer with American Ballet Theatre and now Co-Director of the School of Nimbus: Summit, I (Sarah) am thrilled to help cultivate a nurturing, inspiring environment where dancers of all ages and aspirations can thrive. At Nimbus, we believe in mentorship, connection, and opportunity. Whether you’re stepping into a dance studio for the first time or deepening your training toward a professional path, you belong here.
This Fall, the School of Nimbus Summit Location will offer:
