What is Performance Repertory?
Performance repertory is an opportunity for students to grow artistically by exploring choreography and musicality using the technique they are working on in class. Students will work with a Nimbus Company dancer or School of Nimbus teaching artist to learn a choreographed piece to be performed in the Spring Showcase, complete with costumes, music, and lighting.
Performance repertory pieces are longer choreographed numbers than the class demonstrations presented in the Spring Showcase. Join the Advanced Track program to take part in this class, or join this semester A la Carte.
How do I avoid the convenience Fee?
The convenience fee is automatically generated for all Credit Card transactions. In-person payments using cash or check do not generate a convenience fee. Stop in anytime!
How do I apply for a scholarship/financial aid?
All School of Nimbus students are eligible for merit—or need-based scholarships. To apply, fill out our scholarship application. Send the application along with a current pay stub or tax return to school@nimbusdanceworks.org. Our School Director will get back to you as soon as possible with the results.
What if my child misses class? Are make-up classes available?
Yes, make up classes are available within a week of the missed class. Students can choose any of the classes on our schedule within their level, with the exception of Acro (for safety reasons) and Advanced Track classes. We do not offer make up classes for Repertory classes or Nutcracker rehearsals. You can schedule your make up class by emailing our School Administrator, school@nimbusdanceworks.org, or calling the front desk 201.377.0718.
Where do I purchase a uniform?
You can purchase class uniforms at the Nimbus Boutique in the Lobby of the Nimbus Arts Center, or at your retailer of choice. All uniforms are outlined by class and level in our class uniform guide.
Are payment plans available?
Yes, payment plans are available upon request in consultation with the School Director. We typically ask for 3 equal payments with the first installment due prior to the first class. All payments must be made over the phone or in person in order to pay in installments. Payment through Dance Studio Pro will automatically charge the full balance.
What is your refund policy?
Registration fees and convenience fees are non-refundable. Any cancellation or enrollment changes from a class, camp or intensive must be communicated to The School of Nimbus in writing through email at least 2-weeks prior to the start of the program or 2-weeks after the families registration date if enrolled after start of term. Not informing The School of Nimbus of changes or cancellations in enrollment after two weeks from students' start date will require full payment of the class, camp or intensive.
How will my sibling discount be applied
Sibling discounts will be automatically applied through DanceStudio Pro and take 10% off of tuition for one student. This is applicable for one student within the same family household.
Can I watch my child’s class?
There is a designated Parent observation week at the end of each semester on the last week of the semester. Two adults can observe per student. Otherwise parent’s are asked to remain on the Mezzanine level for student drop off and pick up.
Is there a showcase?
In the Spring, all classes participate in the Spring showcase with a class demonstration. Students will do a demonstration/routine at the showcase of what they have learned over the semester around 1-2minutes in length in their class uniform. However, the Repertory classes are rehearsal classes where students learn a choreographed number and will receive special lighting, costume and staging. Repertory classes received a choreographed number with staging, lighting and costumes. This is typically a 3-5 minute piece.
In the Fall, students must register for Nutcracker rehearsal classes where they will learn roles according to their age and level to participate in the show. All students are welcome to register and participate.
