Spring Semester

The Spring Semester offers professional dance instruction in ballet, modern, hip hop, tap, and other dance forms for children, teens, and adults. The School of Nimbus emphasizes personalized attention and excellent instruction. Classes are taught by Nimbus' company dancers and teaching artists, who are trained by national leaders in dance education.

The School of Nimbus gives students the opportunity to explore creativity and movement while advancing their technique so that those who are interested in pursuing dance as a career receive the preparation they need. Our classes are also fun! For students who simply want to enjoy dance, our classes provide a challenging yet supportive environment!

Need- and merit-based financial aid and scholarships are available.

Nimbus Dance Works is a 501(c)3 non-profit professional dance company and school.

School of Nimbus Advanced Track Program

The School of  Nimbus Advanced Track Program (ATP) provides rigorous training for students in Level I and Level II who are looking for more intensive dance education. Geared towards preparing students to audition for Nimbus’ Pre-Professional Program and Youth Ensembles, students in the ATP will have a minimum weekly class requirement along with 1 rehearsal per week where they will prepare for the Jersey City Nutcracker (Fall) or The Spring Showcase (Spring). The Advanced Track Program ensures students have the necessary tools to excel in artistic expression through performance.  No audition required for enrollment.

Students must be enrolled in the Advanced Training Program in order to be enrolled in certain “A track classes” (notated below)

What is Spring Showcase Repertory Rehearsals?

Spring Showcase Repertory Rehearsals are an opportunity for students to grow artistically through choreography, putting to use the technique and musicality that they are working on in class. Students will work with a Nimbus Company dancer or School of Nimbus teaching artist to learn a choreographed piece to be performed in the Spring Showcase, complete with costumes, music, and lighting.

Repertory pieces are longer choreographed dances presented in the Spring Showcase. Join the Advanced Track Program to automatically enroll in a repertory rehearsal or join this rehearsal A la carte.
