Arts camp, done right.

Nimbus SummerArts is a full-day performing arts camp for children ages 4โ€“10 at our Springfield Ave studio. Each week has its own theme โ€” kids spend the week exploring it through dance, theater, singing, and art โ€” and every Friday the whole camp performs for families.

Led by professional Teaching Artists. Capped at 20 kids per group. Real costumes, real lights, real stage.

โญ Professional Artists

Every teacher is a working professional in their discipline.

โญ Multi-Arts

Dance, theater, singing, and visual arts โ€” all in one week.

โญ Small Groups

Max 20 campers per group for genuine connection.

โญ Friday Performance

Every week ends with a real show for families.

Weekly Themes

Every week is a new world.

Register for just one week or all three โ€” each stands alone as its own complete adventure, with a unique theme, unique art projects, and a unique Friday performance.

Every Friday at 4pm, parents are invited to watch their camper perform live. Each week's theme comes to life in a real performance complete with lighting and staging. No after-care on Fridays. Exact themes subject to change; see current JC SummerArts for inspiration.

  • Take center stage during Broadway Week! Campers will dive into the magic of musical theater as they create show-stopping art, explore acting and movement, and bring classic Broadway stories to life through creative projects. Itโ€™s a week full of imagination, expression, and applause!

  • Step into a vibrant animal city during Zootopia Week! Campers will celebrate creativity and diversity by designing animal-inspired art, building imaginative worlds, and telling stories where everyoneโ€™s unique talents shine. This playful week is all about teamwork, self-expression, and discovering that anyone can be anything through art!

  • Become a hero for the Earth during Planet Protectors Week! Campers will explore creativity with a purpose as they make eco-inspired art, reuse materials in imaginative ways, and learn how small actions can make a big impact. This fun and thoughtful week celebrates caring for our planet through art, teamwork, and imagination.

Questions

Everything you need to know.

Still have questions? Email us at school@nimbusdanceworks.org or call (908) 273-5500.

  • Nimbus SummerArts in Summit welcomes children ages 4โ€“10. Groups are divided by age. Age grouping is based on your child's age as of September 1, 2026. Campers must be at least 4 years old on their first day of camp.

  • Absolutely not! SummerArts is designed for all levels, from first-timers to kids with years of training. Our Teaching Artists meet each child where they are. Curiosity and enthusiasm are the only requirements.

  • Each day is structured around the week's theme โ€” campers rotate through dance, theater, singing, and visual arts activities with their group. There's outdoor time every other day (weather permitting), a quiet rest period for younger campers, and dedicated rehearsal time leading up to the Friday performance.

  • Fridays are performance day! At 4:00pm, families are invited to watch a live performance based on the week's theme. It's a real production โ€” not just a class demonstration. There is no after-care on Fridays.

  • Campers should bring a nut-free lunch and snacks each day (lunch is not provided), a water bottle, and comfortable clothes they can move in. We'll send a full packing list upon registration.

  • Yes! Need-based scholarships and payment plans are available. Please contact summit@nimbusdanceworks.org to request a scholarship application. We believe every child deserves access to quality arts education.

  • Withdrawals must be made in writing. Refunds or credit are granted if withdrawal is made more than 15 days before the start date. If made 7โ€“14 days before, 50% may be refunded or a full credit issued. Within 7 days of start, transfers or credits may be available depending on space. The $25 registration fee and deposit are non-refundable.

  • Yes! Before-care and after-care are available as an add-on. Before-care is $100/week; After-care is $75/week. Note that there is no after-care on Fridays, as the weekly performance takes place at 4:00pm.
