Workshop Descriptions:

  • Advanced Ballet Intensive is a chance for dancers with significant ballet experience to work on strength, as well as on technical challenges, and to train stamina. Students will be challenged by difficult combinations designed to tease the brain and body, focusing especially on vocabulary including balances, turns, jumps, and leaps.

  • Start with a thoughtful, anatomically-based Contemporary warm up, and then enjoy learning a piece of new choreography specifically designed and created for the group over the course of all three sessions. All choreography will be cumulative and will be open to incorporating collaboration with the dancers present.

  • Expand your Modern Dance skills into the low space studying the fundamentals of Modern Dance Floor Work. Incorporate curves, twists, tilts, and more while learning to include the most often used concepts of floor work in order to move seamlessly from traveling on the feet to organically traveling over the floor and back up again.

  • This workshop starts with a grounded warm-up that gets the body activated, aligned, and ready to move. From there, we’ll flow into movement progressions that offer a full-body workout while introducing students to the foundations of hip-hop choreography. This is an open, supportive space to learn, sweat, and grow.

  • Tap Lab is for older teens and adults who want to move their bodies! Whether you have tap danced before, want to try something new, or have danced other styles but never tap dance, Tap Lab sessions are an hour and a half of group-centered work that get you moving with approachable rhythm challenges and holistic, joyful physicality.
