Nimbus Masterclass Series: Street Jazz with Eric Jenkins

Once a month the School of Nimbus provides students with the unique opportunity to train and interact with top dance professionals in various dance techniques and styles. Push your limits and hone your artistry in a Street Jazz Masterclass with Eric Jenkins on Saturday, October 16th from 12-2pm. Immediately following the class, students will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session with Mr. Jenkins.

More About Eric...

Eric Jenkins was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Maryland. After he received his Bachelors of Arts degree from University of Maryland Baltimore County, he moved to New York in 1995. Working closely with the New York Knicks and New York Liberty, he has choreographed numerous routines for the Knicks City Dancers, Knicks City Kids, Liberty Torch Patrol, and Lil' Torches.

He then became the assistant choreographer for the 2001 NBA All-STAR games held in his hometown of Washington D.C. While working for the NBA/WNBA he began dancing for and with BDC's own Darrin Henson. Since then he has danced and choreographed for a number of artists such as Kristine W., Funky Green Dogs, and Kim English, to name a few.

He has choreographed for the Sony recording artists, React, as well as helped develop artists like Back to Back(Top Shelf/Light Year Entertainment). He has also choreographed Tommy Boys recording artist Amber's 2003 Naked Summer Tour in addition to dancing for mainstream artists like Brandy, Missy Elliott, and Ricky Martin. Eric has been part of the small screen (Double Platinum and 30 Rock) as well as the big screen (Marci X, Preaching to the Choir, and I Am Legend). In addition to being a core Teaching Arist at Broadway Dance Center in New York City, he also travels the world sharing his gifts and talents.
